As I'm sure most of you know, October is breast cancer awareness month, but you may not have heard about this wonderful organization that I am affiliated with, Think Pink Photography. Photographers who participate in those program provide complimentary portrait sessions to women or men and their families who have been diagnosed with, or have completed treatment for breast cancer in the past 12 months. In additional to the complimentary session the client will receive 20 4x6" prints from the session as well as a 15% discount on additional purchases. If you'd like to learn more about Think Pink Photography, their website is www.thinkpinkphotography.org. And if you or someone you know is interested in taking part in this program, please contact me!

It's October and I'm moving into my new space! I am extending an invitation to everyone to stop by on October 10th between 11am and 3pm to check out the new space, pick up a goody bag, and have a snack. I'll have door prizes as well! The studio is located on the second floor at 1 East Mellen St in Hampton, and the entrance is around the corner on Mallory St. Just look for the purple door! Phoebus Days will be going on that day, so there will be lots to do in the area, and there is plenty of parking in nearby lots.
I'm very excited to have the studio space now, but I
will still be offering on-location sessions as well, so a photo shoot
at your favorite park or beach is definitely still an option! And
parents of newborns will have the choice of having their session in
their home or at the studio.
So now it's time to start scheduling sessions at this new studio! October 30th from 9-11:30am and the 31st from 3-5:30 pm I will be offering costume sessions, bring the little ones in for a special portrait in their Halloween gear! These will be mini-mini- sessions, 15 minutes long and will be just $25 for one 5x7. (And of course you will be welcome to purchase additional portraits!)
And I'm now taking appointments for the holiday mini-sessions at the studio. As with the outdoor mini-sessions (times are still available for those as well!), the studio mini-sessions will be 30 minutes long and cost $150. The $150 will be entirely applied to your print order with no separate session fee. I am offering two special "mini-packages" only available with the mini-sessions:
The Pretty Paper Mini
1 8x10 portrait
2 5x7 portraits
16 wallets
30 holiday cards
$165
The Silver Bells Mini
1 8x10 portrait
5 full-resolution digital files
5 4x6 prints of each digital file
$250
And I have some new card designs, here are just a couple of them!
Mini-holiday sessions will be available Saturdays starting in November and more dates will be added as needed. Give me a call, 757.630.5860 or e-mail me at info@annecompanionphotography.com to schedule!

Moving on up in age, we get to the "big" (over age 1) kids! Big kids want to be on the move at their sessions and so comfort is a key factor to consider in dressing them for it. Too many frills or something you don't want them to get dirty--not a good idea! And as always, make sure their clothing doesn't detract from THEM, no loud patterns, and no slogans or logos on their clothes.
And I love this look for little boys, just overalls!
Next week...hmmm...any suggestions? :)
